Canet-en-Roussillon Twinning Update
A packed Renehan Hall in St. Patrick's College welcomed a delegation
from Canet-en-Roussillon for the formal signing of the twinning
charter on Saturday 1st October. This was the second of a two-part
signing process to complete the twinning of Maynooth with Canet-en-Roussillon,
where the first part of the signing process took place in Canet-en-Roussillon in June 2011.

Maynooth Community Council was established in 1984 by Democratic
Elections, (non-political, non-denominational), as a voluntary body to
represent the local community and to respond to issues and the needs of
the town. Over the past years we have been strong and forceful in issues
affecting the area. Some of these are as follows:
Gain Town Council status for Maynooth
Development of the Harbour Field
To include Arts Theatre / Community Centre Running Track / Sake Board
Park and underground Car Parking
Maynooth Community Council is a FÁS sponsored scheme.
Our purpose is to supply a monthly magazine (Maynooth Newsletter) to the
local community, which is available in local shops. The newsletter consists of
local and community news, and all political news relating to the area.
We also post photographs of local events and try to profile someone of
interest from the Maynooth area whether they were born here or just live
locally.
Maynooth Community Council is grant aided by
County Kildare Leader Partnership
